Lea started her working career in the hospitality industry as a MIT for Motels of America. Her time in hospitality provided many connections, eventually leading her to work in retail before transitioning to Stock Building Supply (now Builders FirstSource) in 2004. Knowing nothing about building materials, Lea began working in entry level roles, to learn the business. She worked as Inside Sales, Office Admin, Inventory Control, Safety Coordinator, and part time as a human resources coordinator. Working in multiple roles in the organization provided much experience and opportunity to grow. Lea has been with the company for 19 years. She is a Senior HR Director and currently leads the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts at Builders FirstSource.
In her current role, Lea provides strategic leadership and direction through human resources. She collaborates as a HR business partner with corporate and field locations on many facets including employee relations, compliance, training, performance, policy interpretation, special projects, and other functions. She also leads and advises on change management projects for the organization.
As DEI Lead, she is responsible for the developing and managing the implementation of a proactive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, and guiding the development of cross functional programs, resources, and communications to advance a strong culture of inclusion and engagement that serves the best interests of all.
